I purchased this to stop a leak in a 100 foot 5/8 inch garden hose. The product does not come with directions, so it is difficult to know whether it is being correctly used, but one uses a knife to cut out the leaking section, then the Claber 8621 male ends are inserted into the two ends of the undamaged hose from which the bad section has been removed. The Black threaded nuts then are tightened which clamps down over the two ends of hose. The only problem is that although the leak improves, when turned on the water still leaks through the repair kit. I suspect success may vary depending on how well the hose compresses and the water pressure. Overall, I'd say the product helps but does not completely stop the leak.
