5 out of 5 stars Does a great job   October 15, 2008

We live on an acre with quite a few trees, flowers and shrubs. There are eight hoses hooked up to eight watering systems that water everything. I have a timer on every one. The worry of forgetting to turn off any hose after it's designated time is taken care of. Before getting these timers, I can't tell you how many times one particular area would get flooded before I remembered to turn it off. We live in the desert and water is precious. I bring them in during the Winter and they are out and being used Spring through Fall. I am on the third year of use for them. Still going strong.

I bought three of these Nelson Timers and three of the Gilmour timers. The Gilmour timers never switched off. All these Nelson Timers worked, none of the Gilmour timers worked. I even swapped them around to see if it was the installation, water pressure or whatever and still these did not work. I returned them and ordered more of the Nelson Timers

This timer is exactly what I wanted. It was represented accurately, works perfectly, and I recommend it. Dealing with the company was exceptionally easy. Deliver was so fast I couldn't believe it. I am totally satisfied with the entire transaction.

This timer lasts longer than others I've used. I like the 3 hour feature, most are 2. Nelson backs the warranty w/o any problems.

4 out of 5 stars Great, cost effective sprinkler timer   July 13, 2009

This is great timer for sprinkler usage. I have two, one for the front yard and one for the back. Before I got these, I sometimes would forget that the sprinklers were on and go to sleep with the sprinklers running all night. Needless to say--bad for conservation, water bill and my yard. I wanted a timer that was cheap and easy to use. This fits both of those criteria. Although it is plastic, it doesn't leak at the points where it connects to the tap or the hose. And even though I move my hose around a lot, I find that I don't have to re-tighten the tap or hose connections. I like that you can flip it to an ON position while setting up the sprinkler, and it has plenty of gradations on the timer for my timing needs.

Con:
Only one, I've set it to go a couple times and noticed that there was no ticking sound. That is, the timer really wasn't going. I had to move the timing knob just a little in one direction or another and then the timer functionality began to work. No big deal, but just be sure to listen for the tick tick tick of the telltale timer.

I would recommend this to a friend.
