I use it as a flow control device and think itd great. I did have to pulle out the washer screen thing and use a plain flat rubber washer. No teflon tape needed but then I don't ue it in a way that causes back prresure.

An excellent and functional product, especially given its reasonably low price. Compact, reliable and easily installed, the Dramm 15042 allows the user to set precise watering times in increments as low as five minutes. Also comes in a wide variety of colors for the fashion conscious.

This works just as I expected. It can be set for always on, so you don't have to disconnect it to use the hose normally. I was pleased to see there's no apparent loss in volume/pressure with this device. The 2 hour time limit was perfect for my needs, but I could see others wanting a longer period.
