I have a few sprinklers in my yard that break several times every year. A couple in my bushes that get wacked by my hedge trimmer, and a couple along my driveway that get squashed by my cars.
I put this GeiserMiser under them this year, and It's automatically shut-off the water after 3 breaks already. I feel great that I'm not wasting all that water anymore. I've talked with my local police about water fines, and they're quite expensive. Don't think I'll ever get a water fine from my sprinklers now.
I went to their website and they say it pays for itself after just one broken sprinkler. From what I've seen I agree with this completely, my water bill doesn't spike anymore (which was often how I learned of the problem before). It's a no brainer and was easy to install. I installed it at the same time I was replacing a broken sprinkler anyway.
The only problem is that I'm not really sure exactly when the sprinklers broke because my yard still gets watered by all the overlapping spray and my yard never got dry. I guess this is the point though. My system turns on at 6am so I don't ever realy see it sprinkling, can't imagine how much water I've wasted before installing this thing. I found out about the breaks on the weekend when I was doing my typical yard maintenance and noticed that those sprinklers were shut off.
Overall, It's worked like a champ and I'm glad to have them protecting my system from wasting water, thanks guys!
