Do you live in an area where water conservation through high-efficiency showerheads has been considered impossible due to low- or variable-pressure water? The Oxygenics X-Stream Showerhead's patented fluidic pressure technology increases the velocity of the water, so you can enjoy an exceptional shower, even at extremely low pressures. This low-flow showerhead operates effectively from 2 to 80 psi, automatically adapting to low and variable pressure. The Oxygenics Spa Series Chrome Showerhead uses 2.5 gallons per minute at 60 psi without "low-flow" restrictors, so you can conserve water without sacrificing a great shower. All Oxygenics showerheads are designed to save 30 to 70 percent of the water used by traditional shower fixtures. Other low-flow showerheads simply restrict water flow. The Oxygenics X-Stream Showerhead has 16 air intake ports through which air enters, is mixed with water and accelerated out. My new townhouse came with low water pressure by design. I've tried other showerheads, but the spray was always weak. I tried this one and could not believe how forceful the spray was. It is well worth it to get this showerhead if your water pressure is low.
Best showerhead for low pressure June 13, 2008

I have a house in Mexico with a gravity-fed shower supplied by a tinaco on my roof. All the showerheads I tried before this one were so weak I could not get the shampoo out of my hair, or rinse stray hairs from my body while showering.
X-STREAM TO THE RESCUE. Now I am in and out of the shower in minutes, and the pressure is amazing!
I called Oxygenics and talked to the salesperson who warned me if your pressure is NOT low, because of its special design for ultra-low pressure, this showerhead will make the pressure lower, or even close the water off altogether.
So be forewarned: this head is only for very low pressure water; if you have regular or normal pressure, buy a different Oxygenics product. That may be the problem other reviewers have had, as I cannot imagine a better showerhead than this for my gravity fed shower. It makes the spray every bit as good as in the shower in my house in the USA!

For years, we have put up with low water pressure (it's the water company which wasn't willing to upgrade their ability to provide high pressure with new pipes in this rural area), including for our shower. Then, I found this showerhead on Amazon and decided to give it a try.
I have no idea how it works, but it somehow makes the amount of water that comes out of the showerhead greater and more forceful. It's been such a boon, and we love it!

I didn't buy this under the impression that it would be a five star hotel massage showerhead. I bought it with the knowledge that it was going to be the bare minimum of showerheads, which would also decrease my water usage. It works well, I know it cuts back the water, meaning it cuts back on my water heater costs as well. The water spray is a bit rough and raw, but it does the job. If you're looking for something a little more up top, I'd recommend another Oxygenics showerhead with massage or multi shower options.

I used this for about a week and then put the old showerhead back on. It's just like taking a hose and making the spray smaller to create more pressure. It seemed like a smaller stream of water with an attempt to massage. The massage feature does not work well and I can't seem to get it off of that setting no matter which way I turn it. To each their own, but this product wasn't for me.
Overall, I don't feel that my pressure was intensified which is the purpose of this product. It gets 3 stars because it does function and it does look good, but doesn't function as described.
